Over the years, NTPC Rihand has strived for the betterment of its workers who have worked endlessly in the production of electricity for the nation. To felicitate their efforts; we have carried out programs and policies for securing the future of our employees and contract workers.
Safety is our foremost Priority. NTPC Rihand has always paid greater attention to developing robust mechanisms for the safety of its workers. To achieve the said goals, Mega Pep talks are conducted in presence of HOP for direct interaction with workers. In each mega pep talk, more than 250-300 workers are interacting and communicating with HOP and senior officials of NTPC Rihand. Personal protective equipment is provided to all the workers. This helps in building bridges between the management and the workers on various issues of safety concerns.
Shri Jakir Khan AGM (HR) said that Job-specific training is being given to the contract workers from time to time to enhance their skill sets and regularupdates them about new technologiesso, that they can carry out their work efficiently. He also added that Integrated gate pass system (IDPS) is done for the reduction in gate pass process time which save workers time and efforts. This prevents unnecessary commotion at the entry gate and keeps the workforce in a positive spirit.
All workers are given safety induction training and also medical check-up of all contract workers is carried out to ascertain their health parameters. Contract Labour Integrated Management System (CLIMS) workers are cleared by the Hospital before making the gate pass. This ensures the good health status of the workers and creates a positive environment to extract maximum efficiency of the workforce. Further, NTPC Rihand has initiated several initiatives for a contract workforce to improve the safety environment of its workplace. One such initiative comprises a week of skill development and training programs for contract workers that are carried out by different departments like FM, C&I, Electrical, Operation, TMD, BMD, Off-site, Chemistry, AHM, etc. NTPC Rihand targets to cover the contract workers of the O&M department as well.
Round-the-clock monitoring of OH activities with CCTV cameras and generating real-time alerts of the workers. This helps in preventing major incidents and aims to address any untoward incident to cap the damage to life and property.
